1969 Lay-up Document

The following United States Lines document provides notification of the cancellation of the 1970 sailing schedule and explains why the ship was taken out of service.  It is unfortunate the fate of the ship was sealed at that time.  Despite the optimism of John J. McMullen, President of United States Lines, the ship has not yet been returned to service.
